Ontario-Based Residential Treatment Environmental Scan

In Ontario, there is a lack of comprehensive information on residential treatment services, such as bed numbers, capacity, wait times, cost/fees, eligibility criteria and related policies, ideologies/ethos, locations, specialty services offered, etc. What information is available is incomplete and sporadically updated, which acts as a significant barrier for uptake as individuals have difficulties navigating websites and finding the necessary and relevant information required for them to make informed choices regarding their treatment needs and supports. OCRINT researchers have conducted an environmental scan to comprehensively identify and collate these important program details from all publicly-funded residential treatment programs in Ontario. This information can be used to provide an overview of the residential treatment system in the province which can inform related policies and directed funding, as well as ease of navigation to improve the lives of people who use drugs (PWUD).

The environmental scan can be accessed here.
